Scholar Description

I graduated with a BS in biology and minor in chemistry in December 2018. After graduating I volunteered in the Division of Parasites at the Museum of Southwestern Biology.  My research interests include host-parasite/microbe interactions and the host-immune response to infectious agents. During my year as a PREP Scholar, I will be working under Dr. Ivy Hurwitz in collaboration with Dr. Douglas Jay Perkins at the Center for Global Health on the immune system’s response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. After PREP I wish to pursue a PhD in biology or biomedical sciences and begin my career in researching infectious disease.  My outside interests include horseback riding, hiking, playing the guitar, and learning French and Spanish.
