Scholar Description

I am a PREP/FlyBase scholar at The University of New Mexico. I graduated from UNM with a BS in Biology and minor in Anthropology. My research interest entails the use of cell and molecular biology to look at a diverse range of organisms and explore mechanisms that can be advantageous to human health. I am in the process of transferring labs in order to explore this concept. I learned valuable techniques from the Johnston Lab using Drosophila melanogaster as my model organism and am now moving into the Miller lab to study other insects like beetles. In my free time I like to volunteer at the aquarium and watch anime. I also love traveling and learning about different cultures. I love Biology!
