Scholar Description
Hope Gill was born and raised in Henderson, Nevada until she was 16 where she then moved to Farmington, New Mexico. There she graduated high school and started attending San Juan Community College where she obtained her associates degree in Psychology. Hope then wanted to continue her education and passion for studying psychology so she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here she attended school at The University of New Mexico and graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Sociology in 2018. During her undergraduate years Hope volunteered her time in Dr. Vincent Clark’s lab where her interest for cognitive development began. Dr. Vincent Clark’s lab focused on the influence of brain stimulation on individual’s performance and memory consolidation during sleep.
Hope’s main focus now as a PREP scholar is to continue researching the positive effects that brain stimulation can have on cognitive performance and neurological disorders, while simultaneously uncovering some of the limitations brain stimulation may have as well. Hope wants to take her passion for research to graduate school where she will hopefully obtain her Ph.D. in Psychological research.
