Scholar Description

I recently graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Biochemistry and minors in math and psychology. I have been working in Dr. Irene Salinas' lab since my last year of undergrad and will continue to do so in the PREP program. My research involves investigating how the microbiome is impacted in various states of health and disease in salmonid fish. I am interested in the complex nature of host-microbe relations, and how the microbes within us influence our lives. I plan on continuing in this field of research as I pursue a PhD in Immunology/Microbiology. Outside of the lab, I enjoy exploring the lovely Southwestern wilderness, playing basketball, and reading.
