Scholar Description

I graduated with a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology and a minor in Anthropology in May 2020. I was initially interested in field work, but after working in the Biological Sciences Bureau at New Mexico Scientific Laboratory Division during the Covid-19 pandemic, I realized my passion lay in public health and epidemiology. During my year as a PREP scholar, I will be working under Dr. Ivy Hurwitz in collaboration with Dr. Douglas J. Perkins at the Center for Global Health on their longitudinal SARS-CoV-2 virus study. After PREP, I plan to pursue a PhD in biomedical sciences and begin my career in epidemiology. When not working in the lab, I enjoy reading, sketching, and making playlists on Spotify.
